Latest version of the Syntax Highlighter, changes:

• You can use the 'highlight' parameter with the default tag 'syntax' to highlight lines.
• You can use the 'highlight' parameter with the default tag 'syntax' when a language is specified, in this case the lines to highlight are extracted and passed to GeSHi which will then perform the line highlighting.
• Removed the option to 'select' the code, it is easier to just download it using the link provided you then don't get the line numbers etc
• There were other changes but it has been a while....

If you find any issues then reply to this post, you could even use the Help Generator (button on main posting page) if you like.

I just stumbled upon bbGeSHi 0.7.5, which apparently fixes an error with your Syntax Hightlighter when having bbcode in the code.

Is there any way to fix this in your version and/or do you plan to fix it?

The only way to fix the problem would be to alter the way the mod works. At present the mod is 'hooked' into the phpBB system and as such performs it's job 'after' phpBB as done it's job (i.e. phpBB will have already parsed any bbcodes it knows about before this mod even sees the message text). Which is the reason you see the html for any bbcodes wrapped in code/syntax tags.

Altering the way the mod works will take the mod away from one of the most important things I wanted to accomplish with the mod in the first place which was to make it as easy as possible to install. And as such the number of files to be edited has been kept as low as possible and also why I used the hook system in the first place. If the mod were to be changed to fix the issue with bbcode tags then it would no longer be easy to install and could possibly clash with other mods either now or in the future.

So in answer to your question: There is no easy way to fix the issue and I have no plans, at present, to fix it.

I got to admit though, I might give that other one a try as well and see how that works because I really like the ability to dynamically turn the line numbers on and off.

Not with you here.. the first find in the xml file:

  Code:

Open: styles/prosilver/template/bbcode.html

is for:

  Code:

<!-- BEGIN ulist_close --></ul>

with an in-line add-after of:

  Code:

<!-- ul end -->

So perhaps a little more information other than 'won't work' would be helpful.

I installed the mod and the n uninstalled.. but now i get this error:

Make sure the dir 'includes/hooks' exists and in that dir there is a 'index.php' file. If you've removed it then copy it from the phpBB 3 archive and put it back.
